Darrell and Judy Fuller

Darrell and Judy Fuller

Darrell and Judy Fuller are the innkeepers of the Bed and Breakfast and the hosts that welcome our guests to the NBOC. Darrell’s parents discovered this area in the 1940’s and built a cottage on West Twin Lake in Lewiston, MI. Ever since, our family has traveled up north from Niles, MI to enjoy weekends in the north woods. Darrell is an industrial designer, who managed the design department at Clark Equipment for over 20 years, while Judy enjoyed her gift of teaching all ages between 5-90 years old. In 1981 Darrell decided it was time to follow his artistic passion for woodcarving and wildlife. Together, Darrell and Judy started Cedar Duck and began to sell Darrell’s wildlife carvings, which Judy beautifully hand paint. They traveled to art shows across the county and displayed their talents, while putting Todd and Kimberly through college. In 1996, the family decided to purchase the Douglas Hotel, allowing Darrell and Judy the opportunity to entertain guests, Todd an opportunity to develop his love for fishing and Kimberly an opportunity to restore an old building. Darrell and Judy continue to share their love for entertaining, cooking and art at the bed and breakfast.
